1 Commentaries בראשית, נח (Noah - the second Portion in Genesis) שני (Start of second aliyah) ויאמר יהוה לנח And the Lord said to Noah: בא אתה You come, וכל ביתך and all your household אל התבה into the ark; כי אתך ראיתי for I have seen (that) you צדיק לפני are righteous before Me בדור הזה in this generation. 2 Commentaries מכל הבהמה הטהורה Of every clean beast תקח לך take for yourself שבעה שבעה seven (by) seven, איש ואשתו each with its' mate, ומן הבהמה and of the beasts אשר לא טהרה הוא that are not clean שנים two (by two), איש ואשתו each with its' mate. 4 Commentaries כי לימים עוד שבעה For in another seven days, אנכי ממטיר I will rain על הארץ upon the earth, ארבעים יום forty days וארבעים לילה and forty nights; ומחיתי and I will blot out את כל היקום every living substance אשר עשיתי that I have made מעל פני האדמה from off the face of the earth. 15 Commentaries ויבאו אל נח And they came to Noah, אל התבה into the ark, שנים שנים two (by) two מכל הבשר of all flesh אשר בו רוח חיים which has in it the breath of life. 23 Commentaries וימח And He blotted out את כל היקום every living substance אשר על פני האדמה which (was) on the face of the ground, מאדם from man עד בהמה to cattle עד רמש to creeping thing, ועד עוף השמים and to fowl of the heaven; וימחו מן הארץ and they were blotted out from the earth; וישאר אך נח and Noah only was left, ואשר אתו בתבה and those that (were) with him in the ark. And He blotted out וימח every living substance את כל היקום which (was) on the face of the ground אשר על פני האדמה from man מאדם to cattle עד בהמה to creeping thing עד רמש and to fowl of the heaven ועד עוף השמים and they were blotted out from the earth וימחו מן הארץ and Noah only was left וישאר אך נח and those that (were) with him in the ark ואשר אתו בתבה כג
